Diplomatic Recognition for Outstanding Diplomats
The Government of Bangladesh today conferred the prestigious “Bangladesh Medal for Diplomatic Excellence-2023” upon His Excellency Essa Yousef Essa Alduhailan, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Bangladesh, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to strengthening and expanding the multifaceted ties between the two brotherly nations, especially during the trying times of the Covid-19 pandemic. The award ceremony was held this morning at the Foreign Service Academy, Dhaka
Hon’ble Foreign Affairs Adviser Mr. Md. Touhid Hossain graced the event as Chief Guest, and Foreign Secretary Ambassador Mr. Md. Jashim Uddin presided over the conferment ceremony.
During the ceremony, the Foreign Secretary noted that the exceptional leadership and tireless efforts of His Excellency Essa Yousef Essa Alduhailan have elevated Bangladesh-Saudi Arabia bilateral engagements to a comprehensive partnership. He stated that various aspects of Bangladesh- Saudi engagements have multiplied reaching new heights in the area of business and commerce, trade and investment during his tenure. The Foreign Affairs Adviser termed Saudi Arabia as a steadfast and trusted friend of Bangladesh emphasizing that the longstanding relationship between the two fraternal nations is marked by mutual trust and understanding as well as shared goals of achieving development and peace. He appreciated His Excellency, the Ambassador’s critical role in fostering new collaboration across diverse sectors, and taking forward the ever-growing economic partnership to the next level. He especially thanked the Ambassador’s efforts in facilitating recruitment of a good number of Bangladeshi workers to Saudi Arabia who have been contributing to both economies. He hoped that His Excellency the Ambassador would carry forward the warmth and good will of our people as the Ambassador of Bangladesh in his future endeavors.
His Excellency Essa Yousef Essa Alduhailan, in his remarks, thanked the Government of Bangladesh for the highest diplomatic award conferred to him and expressed sincere gratitude for all support and facilitations in delivering his responsibilities in Bangladesh. He praised the brotherly gesture and good will of the people and his deep attachment for them. He also underscored Saudi Arabia’s deep commitment to Bangladeshi people and the ongoing humanitarian efforts worldwide.
